The Stumbling Monkey: Barrel-Aged Colombian

Spring 2018 limited release! - We used a bourbon barrel from Cedar Ridge Distillery in Swisher, Iowa, that had then aged a Russian imperial stout from Lion Bridge Brewing Co. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We then added 150lbs of un-roasted Colombian coffee and aged it for 6 weeks prior to roasting. It's an All-Iowa batch of the Stumbling Monkey! A medium to medium-dark roast, this coffee is what we like to call "a complex mouth journey."

  • Aroma Notes: vanilla, caramel, boozy
  • Taste Notes: oak barrel, chocolate
  • Process: washed, then barrel-aged for 6 weeks prior to roasting
